About

In a culture that is so fast paced and consumer driven, it can be challenging to slow down and reflect on where the things we buy, use, and consume actually come from, how they’re made, and the effects they have on people and the planet.  We often forget that the choices we make and the products we use have very real consequences – some positive and some negative.

A Peaceful Living was born from  an effort to be more mindful in my day-to-day life and try to live in a way that considers these implications.  I’m am not a purist and I realize that it is impossible to live perfectly without doing any harm, but I am going to try to minimize harm whenever I can.

For me, this means excluding all animal products from my diet and wardrobe, utilizing eco-friendly products at home, considering who and where my clothes were made,  and reducing waste at home.

This space is for anyone who wants to try to live in a way that is more compassionate to others and gentle on the Earth, but still indulge in fashion, travel, and delicious food.

Hopefully this blog will inspire you to be more conscious of where the products you buy are coming from.  And , along the way, I’ll include musings on travel, vegan food,  incorporating animal-friendly beauty and other products  into your home, as well as opinion pieces on animal rights, vegan, environmental, and other social justice issues.

I also write a monthly style column for Vilda Magazine and am a proud member of the Ethical Writers Coaltion. Check them both out!

xoxo

I love it!! I started eating vegan two and a half years ago, but I’ve been hoping to find a blog that would help me incorporate animal friendly fashion into my lifestyle as well. Happy to have stumbled upon your blog :).

It’s true so much of life today is about convenience, it’s so easy to a short cut. Get premade food, fast fashion, cheap cosmetics. But when you stop and ask yourself how can a tank top cost $2 at Old Navy you start to wondering what is really going in the supply chain. I really love what your covering and have started to blog about myself as well, and do mean “just started” but we all have to start somewhere right. I look forward to reading more of your post and just adore your beautiful photos.
